From Delivery to Emergency: A Stark Reminder of Ukraine’s Ongoing Need

It’s always a hopeful moment when we hear that aid has reached those who need it most. But this time, the news we received was not what we expected.

After each delivery, we follow up with the hospitals and brigades who received the supplies. On one of these calls, a hospital in the Sumy region told us they had been ordered to evacuate - just days after receiving the medical aid. The staff had no choice but to urgently pack up and transport everything, without even having the chance to use the supplies they received.

A similarly difficult situation is unfolding in another part of the region, where we had delivered firefighting equipment. As the frontline shifts, the number of emergency calls grows - and local firefighters, many of whom are volunteers, need urgent support more than ever.
